The one thing most guides get wrong
"KDP" is one platform that does both ebooks and print (Amazon merged its print service into Kindle Direct Publishing in 2018) — so "publish on KDP" can mean very different things.
And the big one for India: Kindle ebooks work fully on Amazon.in, but KDP does not print paperbacks locally in India. A KDP paperback prints abroad and arrives as a costly import, so Indian authors use a local print service for physical books and keep KDP for the ebook. Here's the full breakdown →
